VIRTUAL SCULPTURE
Virtual Sculpture is a series of sculptures created using computer graphics. The impetus for this project came from description of Picasso’s cubist paintings in Ernst Gombrich’s “The Story of Art”: ‘He invited them to share with him in this sophisticated game…’. Cubist paintings were once criticized during the war as paintings for the elite, and the institutional nature of contemporary art and its reliance on concepts is also in danger of being subjected to similar criticism. This series of works was created to examine whether the pleasure of appreciating contemporary art really has the same character as the game.
